Safe Image Search

February 24th, 2008

Does anyone know of any safe image search sites?  We started a new Internet Filtering service and Google image is blocked, which has always been a problem.  I know some folks subscribe to clip art companies?  I have been pointing students toward the safe search in Netrekker, but would like something that they wouldn’t have to log into the Kan-Ed Desktop.  Thanks!

Take 5 minutes and watch the video.

Bypassing content filtering

February 24th, 2007

There are certain web sites that are designed to help students avoid your districts content filtering system. I’d like to start a list of those sites under this post so please comment if you have any to share. I found this one bypassed our sonicwall this past week and blocked it manually and also submitted the URL to Sonicwall. Test it out at home or school to get an idea how students manage to get to sites that you think are blocked.

RSS & KTCN

January 31st, 2007

RSS is a powerful feature of Wordpress and can help you stay up to date with the latest posts and comments on the KTCN site. On the Macintosh platform, both Safari and Firefox 2 support RSS feeds. On the PC, the latest version of Explorer and Firefox 2 do a really nice job also.
